Carrie Blanding is an Oakland, California-based consultant who specializes in interim executive director roles. Her interim clients span a wide range of causes, sizes, and business models.
As an interim director, Carrie has managed everything from a founder transition at a nonprofit serving homeless women and children, to a science boundary organization partnering closely with state officials, to a young opera company commissioning new work, and more.
Previously, she served as the executive director of a nationally recognized nonprofit chamber music ensemble, co-founded a social enterprise business providing youth performing arts training, and provided fundraising and management consulting to a variety of nonprofit clients.
Carrie has a bachelor’s degree in comparative literature from U.C. Berkeley, and has studied board leadership and nonprofit financial stewardship with the Harvard Kennedy School.
