Abi Karlin-Resnick brings an extensive background in non-profit management, having served in roles that touch every part of organizational operations – direct service, fundraising, financial management, communications, strategy development, and program evaluation. Over the last 25 years, she has worked in a variety of organizations in London, Boston, Chicago, and the Bay Area. She began her career managing youth programs in disinvested communities in Chicago and then shifted her social impact focus to non-profit administration and fundraising. For 10 years, she served as the Executive Director of Health Connected, a leading provider of reproductive health education in California. She has also served on a variety of fiduciary and advisory boards.
Abi has served in a variety of interim leadership roles, supporting organizations through periods of transition and/or crisis. She particularly enjoys finding high-leverage opportunities to make internal processes more efficient and transparent so that the staff, board, and new leadership can focus on mission impact rather than cleaning out the proverbial closets. She also provides consulting on strategic planning, revenue generation, operational excellence, organizational performance management, and practical program evaluation. While much of Abi’s work has been with organizations that support youth development, she has also worked with reproductive health organizations, museums, arts organizations, Jewish institutions, and organizations that do state advocacy work.
She holds a BA in Psychology with a specialization in Education from UCLA, an MBA with a concentration in Public and Non-Profit Management from Boston University, an MS in Educational Improvement and Transformation from Drexel University, and is currently pursuing a doctorate in education, also from Drexel University.
