Experienced interim professionals for nonprofits.
Our network of nonprofit management professionals serves as Interim Executive Directors. Each of our members has substantial experience as a nonprofit Executive Director and Interim Executive Director and has met the criteria for membership in BAIED.
A diversity fellowship program was adopted in 2021 to encourage and mentor new, younger, and diverse talent, and a strong commitment was made within the network to support and model DEIA principles and practices. Much of the group actively engages in diversity trainings and online sessions that have exemplified and discussed best practices within the scope of the Interim role.

“When we hired a BAIED interim to hold things together after the unexpected departure of our new nonprofit executive director, we thought we were getting a band-aid solution. Instead, we got a complete workup that we didn’t even know we needed. With skill, decisiveness, diplomacy, and grace, he supported staff, stabilized operations, strengthened internal systems, and up-leveled the board on governance and strategy. I learned more from him in the ten months we worked together than in the twenty-five years I’ve spent serving on various boards. I would jump at the chance to work with him again!”
“The BAIED interim we hired came highly recommended and was an excellent choice. She truly made a difference in bringing us up to where the organization should be, energizing the staff, lowering the anxiety of the board, and guiding us successfully through some rough times… she has my heartfelt thanks and appreciation.”
“The BAIED interim stepped into our organization during a time of great transition and uncertainty. She was able to assess the situation clearly and move our organization forward with transparency and sureness. She kept the staff and board united in developing a tactical plan that was able to shore up our services and processes. Ultimately, her astute decision making brought us through a place where were able to move forward with a new executive director and a sense of vision for where we are headed. She left our organization well-prepared for our steps forward.”
“The BAIED interim we hired came into SFCP after the former executive had left, with virtually no orientation. She had to discover everything for herself, and discovered an organization that needed significant reforming. Working with the volunteer leadership, she brought consummate professionalism – not to mention a great deal of experience and knowledge – to her assignment. She did not come in as if she were a consultant just doing another job, but did her job with dedication, energy and persistence, and with clarity about what she was here to do.”
